Arrived in Lake Placid for Ironman competition. When I made reservation, asked how far from the start/finish line-was told approximately 10 mins. When I asked for directions, was told "just call me when you get to town" When I called, was directed to a dock! Little did I know that you can only access this place by boat! Not good when you need to be up at 4:30 AM and it takes 20 mins to get back to the dock and then you are 1.2 miles from the start/finish line! Owner is trying to sell camp, has not been updated since it was built. Towels in room had holes in them! Needless to say- if you are in for a very rustic experience and don't mind not having access to town as there is NO road that goes there, this is your kind of place. But if you need to be places and rely on someone to take you back and forth, not good! Misrepresented the place entirely!
