Couldn't believe a laundromat could possibly be THAT bad. Wrong! No soap in the vending machine. When I texted the proprietor, I got the response that it is on order and should arrive on Monday [today is Thursday]. Gold Medal, here I come...
I don't give one star reviews lightly, but this has to be one of the worst laundromat experiences I've ever had. I loaded up a newer-looking front loader and an aged yet clean top loader, and went to make change. The change machine was out of order. A note posted on the wall says to go to the Golden Arrow Hotel if there are issues, so I did. The girl at the front desk, after pausing for a second, informed me that they had run out of quarters, they "just found out." She recommended I check with the newsstand directly upstairs from the laundromat. Don't bother! The woman working there is curt and unhelpful - despite operating a "cash only" business, she had only $1 in quarters to spare. Sent to the bank, I finally have quarters in hand and am listening to the disconcerting clank of the top-loading machine. Since 50% of the dryers are out of order, I'm not overly optimistic about the outcome of this visit. There's another laundromat in town, and though I haven't been there, I don't think it could possibly be any worse.
Don't waste your time. It's a dump!
