I would use caution when booking with this company, I would like to believe that I was not scammed however I believe now that I was. It is frustrating that a company that claims to hold such high standards, has not followed through to provide a REFUND for SERVICES THAT WERE NOT PROVIDED.
Absolutely this company uses their weather policy to take advantage of tourists.
I reserved for a 2h private ride at 4pm on a saturday. I was driving down from Canada just for this. I got there at 3:55pm and the gate was closed. I opened the gate and made my way in. There was no one there to greet me. I walked to every building there, there was no one (Except horses). I wanted to call them to get more information but as a Canadian my cell does not hav reception in the Adirondack mountains. I waited 15 min. No one ever came. I called them as soon as I had reception on my drive home. They would not refund me, said I was moved to 5pm and should of had a "working" cellphone. I am contesting the charges.
We had a GREAT time. Travis was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We would certainly return there.
This company sent me an email stating they would refund me, and I have made several phone calls regarding this transaction only to have false conversations and disagreements with staff.
My family and I were visiting Lake Placid for a weekend in December and were interesting in taking a sleigh ride. I then booked an appointment with the Adirondack Equine Centre after reviewing their website. We arrived to our appointment to find that it was cancelled due to the weather. That was understandable because there was no snow, although their website claims to be equipped with wheels for warmer weather.
I booked the sleigh ride for Dec. 9 as of today Feb. 23 I have not been refunded the 192.00 that was immediately withdrawn from my bank account.
