Great family place.
Recently took the guided tour at the Olympic Center. Our guide, Tom Mason shared with us a chronological review of Lake Placid's maturation of a small community that at the turn of the 20th century willed their way to becoming a destination for winter sports. Through the concerted efforts of local leaders the village was to become the host to not one, but two Winter Olympics.
Tom was very informative and allowed for an engaging interactive tour. We had done a fair share of research on the Olympics, but were still awed at the amount of new information we learned.
It's s fun little day trip, if you are interested in the Olympics
