Stayed here 2 nights. The property looks very nice, clean, no maintenance issues, and has amenities for families. Why do they get a 2? The breakfast was bad. Of all the Hampton Inn and Suites I've been to, this was the second worst I've ever had (the only one worse was the time that a staff member told me that the only way I was getting a waffle was if I bought waffle mix myself). The food quality was not good to start with, and there wasn't enough. Every time I walked out there, something was completely empty, and most things were very low. I watched a staff member walk by two empty food trays and an area with no paper plates, only to start refilling ketchup packets. While there were guests standing there asking for plates and eggs. I'm sure they get away with it because of their location (tourist town and close to ice center for hockey tournaments, so they don't have to try hard to get occupancy). But I have no desire to stay there again.
Great staff. Nice open common area. Breakfast could have had better fresh fruit and yogurt choices. My key kept failing. Overall would go back.
We always stay here in Lake Placid. The staff is always fantastic and the hotel is nice and clean. The pool is always a hit with the kids and the managers beer and wine specials are a hit with the grownups. I look forward to our next trip!
Loved the Hampton Inn & Suites. The sitting room/dining room area on main floor was a great place to sit by the fire, or the windows to look at beautiful Mirror Lake. The staff provided kids activities and a movie on Friday night when it was too cold to walk downtown for dinner.
Very conveniently located close to Main St. and facing onto Mirror Lake. Our room looked over the lake and the view with the mountains in the background is incredible. The hotel looks new and is designed in an Adirondack style. Our room was decorated in contemporary style, looking clean and fresh. The room was spacious with generous seating and places to set out our luggage. The bed was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was hotel standard but satisfactory. Staff were friendly and efficient. Nice outdoor patio with comfy chairs and a gas fire pit to ward off the evening fall chill. We will definitely be back in the future. A four out of five star property.
